Join us this summer for an unforgettable week of playing in a rock band. Make new friends, explore new instruments, and bring it all together in an epic rock show at the end of the week! Students are welcome to come to multiple weeks of the program. The songs will be different, and students can try a different instrument. Every week of the program will be its own unique experience.
Let’s get loud and have some fun doing it! Learn about all different kinds of percussion from hand drums and shakers to drum sets and xylophones. Try bucket drumming and hand drumming in jam sessions, get a private lesson on the drum set, and make your own hand-made percussion instruments.
Join us this summer for an amazing week of ALL the arts: music, painting, drawing, crafting, and theater. Play fun games, make beautiful art, and explore music through games and activities that are not only tons of fun, but will build musical skills.
Build your very own guitar from scratch. Under the close guidance of our amazing faculty, learn to use all of the necessary tools (don’t worry - no power tools needed!), assemble and decorate your guitar, and wire the electronics. At the end of the week, learn all the basics that you’ll need to start playing songs!
Details
Programs available for students ages 7–13 and band leaders ages 14–16 during the weeks of June 29 and July 6, 13, and 20. Programs meet five days a week. Half and Full Day programs available.
What’s a Band Leader?
A band leader is an instructor in training. Leaders will participate in all program activities with students, but will also help with teaching songs, understanding the instruments, setting up the bands, and much more. No previous experience is needed — we’ll teach them all they need to know! If you have a child between 14–16 and you are interested in our band leader program, please call 413-341-1689 for details.
