About The Prindle School
The Prindle School is a music school in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts offering OnSite and OnLine private music lessons, classes, and ensembles.. We have over 40 faculty members offering music lessons on all instruments and voice in three convenient locations, as well as virtually via Zoom. Our faculty have a wealth of experience delivering exactly the right program of lessons for each individual client: young children as they begin their music journey, highly dedicated professional musicians, adult learners who hope to bring more joy into their lives, and everything in between. Our owners, Dan and Michelle Prindle, have 50 years of combined experience in music education. Dan holds a Ph.D. in music theory from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and also teaches music theory and ear training at Williams College. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford, is a Certified Waldorf Early Childhood Educator, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in voice performance at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Meet Some of Our Voice Faculty
Heidi McLaughlin
Soprano Heidi McLaughlin brings a strong foundation in classical technique and a passion for vocal health. She began singing and performing at a young age, studied voice at Baltimore School for the Arts, and recently graduated from Washington & Lee University with a Bachelor of Science in Vocal Performance.
Heidi has performed roles such as Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore and Dido in Dido and Aeneas, and has trained in prestigious programs including the Washington National Opera Institute and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. While at Washington & Lee, she was honored as the first vocalist to win the school’s Concerto-Aria competition.
Michelle Prindle
Michelle has taught private voice and piano lessons for more than 20 years. Her students have been admitted to competitive voice and musical theater programs, including Wagner College and the Conservatory at Shenandoah University, and have been accepted to the Eastern Regional and All-State Music Festivals in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts district select chorus. She is currently the music teacher at Montessori School of Northampton and maintains a private studio at The Prindle School.
