About The Prindle School

The Prindle School is a music school in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts offering OnSite and OnLine private music lessons, classes, and ensembles..  We have over 40 faculty members offering music lessons on all instruments and voice in three convenient locations, as well as virtually via Zoom. Our faculty have a wealth of experience delivering exactly the right program of lessons for each individual client: young children as they begin their music journey, highly dedicated professional musicians, adult learners who hope to bring more joy into their lives, and everything in between. Our owners, Dan and Michelle Prindle, have 50 years of combined experience in music education.  Dan holds a Ph.D. in music theory from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and also teaches music theory and ear training at Williams College.  Michelle holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford, is a Certified Waldorf Early Childhood Educator, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in voice performance at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Meet Our Film Scoring Faculty

Dan Prindle

Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer, and teacher Dan Prindle has over 25 years of experience as a music educator and professional musician. Dan holds a Ph.D. in music theory from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he also completed a Master of Music in music theory. Dan completed his undergraduate education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, earning a Bachelor of Music in Composition.

Dan started his successful musical career with the New England jam-band juggernaut Rane in the mid 1990s. The intervening decades have been filled with musical accomplishments including the release of Dan’s first full-length solo album, Where You Land, in 2013 and an EP called Water and Wine in 2017. Recorded almost entirely in his own brand-new studio, Six String Orchestra Productions, the EP features Dan’s most elaborate productions to date. It draws on diverse influences: the accessible singing of Ben Folds, the rich backing harmonies of the Eagles, the moog synth sounds of Percy Hill, and the jazzy guitar inflections of Steely Dan.
