About The Prindle School
The Prindle School is a music school in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts offering OnSite and OnLine private music lessons, classes, and ensembles.. We have over 40 faculty members offering music lessons on all instruments and voice in three convenient locations, as well as virtually via Zoom. Our faculty have a wealth of experience delivering exactly the right program of lessons for each individual client: young children as they begin their music journey, highly dedicated professional musicians, adult learners who hope to bring more joy into their lives, and everything in between. Our owners, Dan and Michelle Prindle, have 50 years of combined experience in music education. Dan holds a Ph.D. in music theory from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and also teaches music theory and ear training at Williams College. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford, is a Certified Waldorf Early Childhood Educator, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in voice performance at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Meet Our Bass Faculty
Brian O’Connell
Brian O’Connell is widely known for his inventive and kinetic approach to bass guitar and touch guitar with several bands. Active on the Northeast music scene and beyond for over 25 years, he has performed widely with Arukah, Dead Man's Waltz, Uncle Sammy, Gordon Stone, Gary Backstrom, Rev Tor Band, and many others.
Sean Riddle
Sean Riddle is a bassist, improviser/composer, and educator who recently relocated to Western Massachusetts from Southern California. They began playing piano in their middle school rock band, followed by bass guitar and eventually double bass in high school. Sean graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with BFA in jazz bass performance, studying with West coast luminaries Darek Oles, Larry Koonse, Vinny Golia, and David Roitstein.
